The Blues are a collection of five skits performed by McQuinn and Plummer, with Woods providing background vocals, which ran on NBC-TV in 1966, and were included on a one-off release in 1967 (1963 in the UK), released by The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan.
In January 1965, The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan was released, which contained two concert recordings and three studio tracks, by Bob Dylan. The songs featured in the album included "A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall", "Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues", "Talking Bear Mountain Picnic Massacre Blues", "Mr. Tambourine Man" and "I Shall Be Released". These songs, as well as "With God On Our Side", "Don't Think Twice, It's Alright" and "Blowin' In The Wind" from The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan, were featured in the four-part miniseries, The Blues.

Book Review - At the core of the blues is the dichotomy between those who struggle to survive in the face of an unjust and unpredictable world and those who revel in and exploit that injustice to their own benefit. In the case of Warren Nunes, his inspiration came from an incredibly rich and complex musical source: blues music, which at its best reflects the humanity of those who have been marginalized by a racist and oppressive society. Following a brief time as a chanteur for a gospel choir, Nunes saw a potential for the blues that he could explore.
The result was Ten People, Ten Fingers, Ten Songs, a skit that was performed on the TV show, The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour in September of 1963. In the skit, ten people were selected to write down their version of the Ten Commandments, and, in the final scene, they choose Warren Nunes as their spokesman.
Those who have written and recorded the blues have been influenced by the voices of those whom have been excluded and the songs and words of those who have been marginalized. (Encyclopedic collection of ac619d1d87
